ANTiPODE is a Seattle-based art organization founded by two jet-lagged immigrants from Tehran. It exists to use immigrant experience to:
i) build art bridges between Seattle and other cities, and ii) transform unfamiliar spaces in Seattle into art homes—where artists can share their work and connect with each other and their audiences.

ANTiPODE Art Gallery (AAG), located at 103 South Main Street, is our primary home. AAG primarily presents immigrant artists. We recognize the responsibility of engaging with such sensitive material and are mindful of the fine line between raising awareness and the risk of objectifying the artist. Letting the art speak for itself, we foster authentic conversations around the immigrant experience—avoiding one-sided victim narratives. To build bridges between artists, we also present local artists.

What’s Happening at ANTiPODE?

ANTiPODE operates along two main axes: a) Art exhibitions, which are our material to build the art bridge, and b) Events, which are our invitation cards to bring local community to our art homes. Our events include artist talks, workshops, film screenings, and experimental music performances. We also offer artworks from past exhibitions for sale online.

Support ANTiPODE

Given the current economic conditions in Seattle, running an art-oriented business is challenging. If you're able to give, please consider donating to ANTiPODE. Your support helps us fund artists working in painting, posters, poetry, video art, short films, sound installations, and sculpture. It also helps us host events like artist talks, workshops, film screenings, and music performances. We partner with SHUNPIKE to make your donation tax-deductible.
